  • Oil and Gas Sector:

    - Legal and tax advice regarding the forestry sectors ;

  • Arbitration:
    One of the partners of SUTTER & PEARCE is registered as an approved arbitrator with the OHADA Common Court of Justice located at Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire).

General skills

  • Legal and tax advice regarding Congolese laws, including company law, commercial law, labour law ;
  • Incorporation of companies, mergers, acquisitions, and any other operations regarding company law, conventions of establishment ;
  • Assistance with tax audits ;
  • Assistance with audits launched by any Congolese administration ;

Geographical scope of activities

Although SUTTER & PEARCE’s main place of activities is the Republic of Congo, SUTTER & PEARCE is also operating at different levels in other States of the Central African Sub region:

  • Central African Republic (RCA) :
    • RCA
      SUTTER & PEARCE
      is incorporated in RCA, at Bangui, and in a position to render any kind of services in relation with legal and tax matters with respect to RCA business laws;

      SUTTER & PEARCE has drafted the General Tax Code, in partnership with the General Tax Administration and the edition company Droit Afrique (www.Droit-Afrique.com).
       
    • CEMAC Organisation :
      CEMAC (Economic and Financial Community for Central African States) is a multinational organisation grouping six Central African States, i.e.: Gabon, Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Chad, and Central African Republic.

      CEMAC is a regulatory organisation, entitled to issue enforceable laws with respect to business practices and laws. 

      SUTTER & PEARCE is keeping direct contacts with the CEMAC organisms in charge of the interpretation of tax and legal Regulations issued by the CEMAC Treaty.
       
  • Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) :

    SUTTER & PEARCE is working in direct partnership with a correspondent law firm, Thambwe Mwanba & Partners, located at Kinshasa-Gombe, 316, Avenue Lieutenant Colonel Lukusa.

    SUTTER & PEARCE is assisting the new ventures in the new oil sector, and has actively contributed to the modelling and drafting of Production Sharing Contracts which are in use in the DRC.
     
  • Républic of Gabon :

    SUTTER & PEARCE has a correspondent firm based at Port-Gentil and Libreville, and is in a position to provide accurate information regarding legal and tax practice in Gabon.
     
  • Républic of Cameroon :

    SUTTER & PEARCE has a correspondent firm based at Douala and Yaounde, and is in a position to provide accurate information regarding legal and tax practice in Cameroon.
